This was TARIL's best performing phase—registering record revenues, production, and order inflow. It won a ₹740 crore single order from GETCO and raised ₹500 crores through QIP. Large capacity additions (15,000 MVA + 22,000 MVA) and backward integration schemes were initiated. The company commissioned fully automated radiator and fabrication units, got its first STATCOM order, and consolidated its leadership in India's renewable and high-voltage power infrastructure industries.

Founded in 1981 by Mr. Jitendra U. Mamtora, Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Limited began its journey with a strong vision to empower India’s power sector. From modest beginnings focused on transformer repair, TARIL evolved into one of India’s largest private transformer manufacturing companies. Over the decades, it has pioneered several technological milestones—such as India’s first 1200 kV transformer and 420 kV ester-filled reactor—while expanding globally. Backed by innovation, precision engineering, and customer trust, TARIL’s legacy continues to shape the future of energy transmission and distribution worldwide.

TARIL commissioned its Changodar facility, scaling production up to 110kV class transformers. It became a dominant force in furnace transformers, capturing nearly 80% of the domestic market. This phase solidified TARIL's manufacturing capabilities and positioned the company as a trusted supplier for India's growing power sector.

TARIL began producing transformers up to 245 kV and fulfilled large-scale orders for GETCO and TNEB. This period marked its strategic move into EHV products, including EAF and traction transformers, strengthening its role in utility and industrial power applications.

TARIL got listed on NSE and BSE, executed 132 kV+ transformers in bulk, and supplied 400 kV class units for NTPC and PGCIL. It earned the 'Best Supplier Award' from GETCO and began international exports, including high-capacity transformers for Russia.

TARIL developed India’s first 1200 kV transformer and delivered 170 MVA EAF units for MENA. Strategic tech tie-ups with Fuji Electric and ZTR Ukraine expanded its 765 kV offerings. The company also ramped up green transformer projects using natural ester fluid.

TARIL successfully implemented more than 80 green transformers with natural ester fluid and became India's sole transformer manufacturer with a NABL-authorized laboratory for electrical steel testing. The organization commissioned dynamic short-circuit tests for bulk transformers and designed 75 MVA, 115 kV green transformers. It marked its global presence through exports to Russia, Iran, and Mexico, while diversifying its portfolio through high-rating furnaces, EAF, and solar application transformers.
